"Having grown tired and fearful of the life she had been forced into, Amelia tries to find some sense of solace in the few moments she spends with another captive of the castle: A demon she has chosen to name Kuro. She struggles to be at peace with herself as she is dealt harsh lashings from all sides, not knowing who else to turn to.

But one night, as if having heard her silent pleas and desperate wish, the demon offers her a terrifying proposal: to kill the man she once loved."

I had fun going through this story! The premise of the story is suitably spooky, and I liked Amelia as a main character a lot. You were able to convey a lot about her relationship with the Baron in a limited wordcount, and the single scene with her and the Baroness was very poignant; it was my favourite scene in the whole VN.

The background art in particular is very pretty and fairytale-y, and I love the background art; it's so soft and pretty!

It was fun going through and trying out the different endings; thank you for making this!

Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad my writing and characters made for an enjoyable experience for you :>

Hi there! ^_^ I enjoyed my time with this game! Your art is so gorgeous - I especially loved the demon's design (so beautiful) and the CG that you get from ending 5. I definitely paused my reading for a moment just to admire those! The BG art stood out to me as well, I thought that the single-color palette for each one was really unique, and the colors you chose suited each background ^_^

The story was very gripping. In very few words, you showed clearly Amelia's history with the Baron and the abusive situation of the present. I was rooting for her very early on. I also really, really liked what you did with the Baroness a lot - for a character who is only physically present for one scene, she's fairly complex and has a lot of weight in the story both before and after we see her on-screen ^_^

ALSO you would not BELIEVE how sad I was when I got ending 3 haha;;; I didn't realize that combination of choices would lead to that outcome and I was SO sad I felt like I'd betrayed Kuro >_< so props to you for making me feel emotionally attached to such a short experience! Thank you for sharing your game with us!

(Also, this project is set in an existing universe? :o you should drop some more info in a reply to this comment and/or link it on the itch page! This is the first of your work that I've seen and I'd love to see more.)

omg thank you so much for your kind words and detailed review! I'm so happy to know all of my time spent on making all the art and writing the script was appreciated! :>

And I'm so glad the story was able to tell what it needed for you (and it made you emotional in the places I hoped it might)! I tried my best to rely on old faithful 'show don't tell' for explaining the backstory and animosity between Amelia, the Baron and Baroness. And haha it's nice to know the Baroness in particular was able to stick out despite her limited screentime :> She was fun to write so seeing that hard work pay off is lovely to hear~

As for the already existing universe: I don't actually have anything yet that is set in this universe that is publicly available/on my itchio. The closest game I do have that is only mildly adjacent is this O2A2 game I made: https://goldieclaws.itch.io/bath-with-mew! The dragon is from the same world as A Great Hunger, but Bath with MEW itself is just dumb fun! I do hope to explore more of this universe though as I do have other stories in the works to help expand it :>

Thank you once again for the review! It means a lot!
